MediaTek has unveiled the Dimensity 9400+ SoC for high-end smartphones. It increases the boost clock on its Cortex-X925 core and comes with improved NPU and Bluetooth performance.

5G ARM Android Launch Smartphone

MediaTek has officially shown off its new SoC for high-end smartphones. The Dimensity 9400+, like many before it, incrementally improves upon the Dimensity 9400. We had a decent idea about its specs and performance thanks to a bunch of leaks from earlier.

The Dimensity 9400+ clocks its prime Cortex-X925 at 3.73 GHz vs 3.62 GHz on the regular Dimensity 9400. A Geekbench leak from earlier confirms its four Cortex-A720 cores get a boost to 2.4 GHz (vs 2.0 GHz). Otherwise, both chips are largely identical to each other on the CPU front.

On the GPU side, the Dimensity 9400+ doesn't offer much in the way of upgrades and sticks with the same Arm Immortalis-G925 MC12. The company claims supported titles can get up to a 40% performance boost via MediaTek Frame Rate Converter 2.0+. Similarly, it uses the same LPDDR5X-10667 RAM and UFS 4.0 storage, the same Imagiq 1090 ISP and MiraVision 1900 display engine.

The Dimensity 9400+ is meant to improve AI performance, with on-device support for sDeepseek R1 Distill. It also enhances the maximum distance for Bluetooth connections to 10 kilometres, provided both phones are within each other's line-of-sight. The SoC will debut alongside the Vivo X200s, Oppo Find X8s and Realme GT7 in the coming weeks.
